The Bramblewood Project is blessed with growing group of volunteers who contribute in different ways. If you are interested in getting involved, have a look below at already established volunteering opportunities, and get in touch if what you have in mind is not listed below.

‘Get Stuck In’ at Bramblewood

This is a weekly session for volunteers at Bramblewood. Whether you are interested in woodland conservation, just getting out and active in nature more or learning some new skills and meeting new people, joining us for a couple of hours will be a real tonic.

We will undertake a variety of woodland activities depending on the season, the needs of the wood, who comes along and the interests of the group. These could include: surveying the flora and fauna, clearing undergrowth, planting, creating new habitat areas and hibernacula, harvesting the abundant summer crop or making hedges and other structures.
There will be breaks for a cuppa and refreshments, opportunity to just sit and enjoy the peaceful woodland haven, or to chat round the fire on cold days.
When there isn’t anything pressing to do round the wood, we can learn and share woodland skills like whittling, cordage, build shelters and equipment for the children in forest school, chop and store fire wood, etc.

No experience necessary and training and protective equipment will be provided for all tool use.

For more information, feel free to email or click here for info and bookings.

Please note: Bramblewood is a wild space with slopes, trip hazards, scratchy plants. It is accessed via a sloping grassy path which can be slippy when wet. Please wear old clothes (long sleeves and covered legs highly recommended) and suitable sturdy footwear.

Volunteering in Forest School

If you are working towards a forest school qualification, recently qualified and looking for more experience, or are interested in child led / outdoor learning, do get in touch to find out if we have any opportunities currently available.

Please note, all adults working with children or vulnerable people at Bramblewood have to satisfy our safer recruitment procedures.
